James Plocinik Owner and Operator of The Crazy!  Moderators  Posts: 29 | girl next door SO I was browsing through some movie previews, and came across this one entitles "The Girl Next Door." It's about a sheltered 18 year old guy that starts crushing over this girl, and they hang out a whole lot. About midway through the movie he finds out she's a porn star. I got to thinking how for about half of the movie she just seems to be this wild person to hang out with, and for some reason wondered if porn stars actually have private lives. If you think about it, there's all this glamour that has arose about the porn industry in the past twenty to thirty years, complete with their own awards ceremony. Supposedly this is taken seriously. Even Las Vegas had basically become the Hollywood of the porn industry. I imagine a pornstar chick meets a guy somewhere and the line, "You know... you look awfully familiar." is brought up at least once. As for sadness... how did you go from a movie preview to "how sad is all of this?" in one paragraph?
